  • This small old English Vesta Case is inscribed with the phrase "Take Your Tythe" meaning take your tax which is the obsolete spelling for the word tithe and features a farm scene of the tax collector taking away a piglet.
  • The box lid is done in repousse' design and has a grooved flat area which would've served as striker.
  • No stamp/hallmarks but box is attributable to J Hynam Co. - London
  • Circa 1840 - 1899
  • Condition:  Good - hinge/lid are in perfect working condition and the lid closes tight and flush. The box does have some some tiny dings on the bottom and has a small scratch on the striker area but is in wonderful shape for its age and still displays very nicely.
  • Size:  2 3/4 x 1 3/4 "
  • Weight:  1.9 oz.
